Bio

Hi, I’m Matilde!

I hold a Master’s degree in Teaching Italian as a Foreign Language (ITALS) from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. Over the past few years, I’ve taught students from all over the world through Dolce Stilnovo, a private Italian language school in Sofia, Bulgaria.

When I’m not teaching, I love exploring new cultures through food. You’ll also find me cycling along scenic routes, taking trains to discover new places, or hiking in nature. In quieter moments, I enjoy writing short stories and spending time with my cats. These experiences shape the way I teach because I believe learning a language is also about discovering people, places, and new ways of seeing the world.

My classes

My lessons are based on the Humanistic-Communicative Approach, which means they’re tailored to your goals, interests, and learning style. Whether you’re learning Italian for travel, work, family, or simply because you’ve fallen in love with Italy, I’ll create lessons designed specifically for you.

For me, every lesson is more than just teaching grammar: it’s a chance to connect with someone from a different culture while sharing my own. Teaching Italian allows me to stay close to my roots and share the language, traditions, and everyday life of Italy with others.

From our very first lesson, you’ll hear and use Italian in a natural and supportive environment. It may seem challenging at first, but this immersive approach helps you build confidence much faster than relying on translations. We’ll go beyond textbook grammar and focus on authentic Italian—the expressions, vocabulary, and cultural nuances that native speakers use every day.

My goal is simple: to help you speak Italian with confidence while enjoying every step of the journey.
